Judicial Competence
We like to think our judges are competence. Indeed, we like to think our judges are more than just competent. We like to think they are wise, impartial, immune to petty thought and partisanship. We like to think such things. What do we really know about the people who act as judges. Do we pay attention to what they do? Do we measure what they do, what they have done? Does anyone write about such things?
